How to Make an Instant Noodle Omelette

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit
An instant noodle omelette is a quick snack meal with the redeeming health feature of protein- and nutrient-rich egg. It's so easy that children learning to cook can make this one as a beginner recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 85g packet of noodles, with flavour sachet
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup chopped tomato and celery
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped finely
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil

Steps

Cooking the noodles
  1. Bring the water to the boil.
  2. Add the noodles to the boiling water. Add the flavour sachet too.
  3. Cook the noodles according to the packet instructions.
  4. Remove from the heat once cooked. Drain well and set aside.
Making the omelette
  1. Crack the eggs into the bowl. Add the parsley, chopped tomato and celery pieces and mix well. Then add the noodles and mix through.
  2. Pour the butter or oil into the frying pan. Heat gently.
  3. Add the omelette mixture. Cook for 5 minutes without stirring.
  4. Sprinkle the cheese over the omelette.
    • If possible, place the omelette under a grill to brown.
  5. Serve hot. Slide the omelette onto a serving plate. Serve with a side salad.

Tips

  • The flavour sachet isn't essential; plain noodles will also work, especially if you season with salt and pepper, or a little cheese, etc.
  • The tomatoes and celery can be replaced with other options, such as: ham, chicken pieces, bean sprouts, canned beans, etc. Or use chopped up leftover veggies from another meal.

Things You'll Need

  • Saucepan, small
  • Colander for draining
  • Mixing bowl and fork
  • Frying pan, non-stick; use a pan that can be placed on the hot plate and under the grill if possible
  • Serving plate
